Just a reminder, next Saturday, May 30 is the STEM4UAS competition at the field. More info is available at http://www.stem4uas.net We will have well over 100 students, their parents and visitors at the field most of the day. The even starts at 7am and will run all day. I’d like to get an idea of how many volunteers we have, so please reply if you will be available. Even if it is just for a few hours, every little bit helps. We will need help with parking, lunch, registration, and then probably just general help as the day goes on with various things that may come up. Ideally, I’d like to get someone willing to take on any of those tasks and run with them so I don’t have to worry about them. Cooking lunch will be a big one, but the club gets the profits from lunch. Also, we need some additional equipment that some of the members may have. Specifically, generators. Even a large 5kw or larger that we could run a lot of stuff off of would be helpful, but smaller ones are useful as well. Anyone with EZ up canopies, please let me know, and bring those as well. We are planning to do some basic setup of the field on Friday evening around 5 for anyone that can make it. The large AMA trailer will be back on site as well as the AMA Education department. Please reply and let me know if you are able to make it or you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks! See you next weekend.
Our new runway material has arrived. Plan is to start at 9am tomorrow (Saturday, May 16). Please bring hammers as we have to drive in the stakes that hold it in place. We are hoping to have the roller tomorrow morning as well.
See everyone in the morning!
It is that time of year again!
This Saturday, April 25th 8am.
Bring anything you think would help with the
clean up and repairs needed at the field.
We now have a account that stores our photos. At the top right of the webpage there is are , and buttons. Check them out.
Due to the forecasted inclement weather, we will be cancelling the March club meeting. There are no significant updates to discuss. Currently, we are still on hold for the new runway material while the state continues to review the proposal. The next club meeting will be held Thursday April 2nd. It will be the first meeting of the year held at the flying field. At that time we will discuss the annual field cleanup day and upcoming events. We still need volunteers for the STEM4UAS competition to be held at the field Saturday, May 9.
